CCIA Food Pantry

The CCIA Food Pantry is committed to stay open during this time of national health emergency with coronavirus. We will maintain our normal open hours at both pantry locations. We have changed the process in how we package and hand out food. We ask for your patience in this as we do our best to keep you our guest and volunteers safe.

If you are experiencing any symptoms we ask that you consider the health of others and not visit the pantry. If you can designate someone to pick up food for you we will try our best to accommodate your need. A simple letter to the pantry designating someone to pick up food for you and then sign your name.  For the safety of all we ask that you please wear a face mask. If you do not have one we can provide one for you.

                                                  FOOD PANTRY: WEATHER RELATED
CCIA will close the food pantry when the Canandaigua School District Closes in the event of severe winter storms or when severe weather is predicted.  For the safety of our volunteers and guests, the Food Pantry may also close during other weather related times.

                                 CCIA BACK PACK PROGRAM
Back Packs are a growing outreach to help provide food to students during school breaks. Many students receive breakfast and lunch when school is in session.
What do students do when they go on school break?
CCIA is proud to partner with the Canandaigua Primary / Elementary School to provide back packs to students during these school breaks. Back Packs are bags pre-filled with a variety of food items that are purchased through FOODLINK.
Each school break CCIA is notified of the number students that are participating. CCIA then orders these bags and they are delivered directly to the school for distribution. School staff will then hand out the backpacks to the children prior to the school break. Currently CCIA provides these Back Packs during four school breaks.

CCIA is looking to expand our number of Back Pack distributions in the coming 2018-2019 school year.

                                                              CCIA Resource Room
"Making Connections With Resources For Help"

Currently the CCIA Resource Room is closed during the
health care emergency with the corona virus.
The phone is checked once a week for messages. It is best if you call the Emergency providers directly.

  • At the Resource Room, we desire to connect people with resources to help.
  • We will offer assistance to anyone that presents a need for help.
  • We will offer assistance to our guests in one of two ways:
1) By providing them with “in-house” service that will help to address their need.
2) By providing them with information about “outside” services in the community that may be able to help them.
  • We will treat all our guests with kindness and compassion
  • We will respect our guests right to privacy
  • We will not share information without prior approval.
  • We look to expand the resources available here by inviting other providers to come and share their services.

We are currently able to provide these Resources and Providers:
                                                                        Resources:

Mobile Food Pantry

With the current health care emergency with the coronavirus,
at this time there is no Mobile Food Pantry at 120 N. Main St.

You may access food through the Ontario County drive thru food assistance program. See schedule above.

CCIA is proud to partner with FOODLINK in providing a mobile food pantry site here in our community. The mobile food pantry is a market on wheels that travels to locations to serve rural and under-served areas. Our volunteers will set up a "farmers market" type setting outdoors in the back parking lot area of the Thompson Apartments. Families will register and are later guided by a volunteer through this market like area as they pick out food items.  We remind our families that this event is held outdoors. Please come dressed based on the weather conditions for the day. See more details below.

CCIA will be providing this great opportunity to access free food items on the last Saturday in the month from June to October .  For more information you may call Pastor Jeff at 394-7450.

Volunteers: Are you interested in volunteering? Do you know of a youth group, scout troop, community group that would like to volunteer. Please contact Pastor Jeff @ 394-7450 x 311 for more information on how you can help.

Supply A Smile
FREE Dental Program

At this time we have no specific dates for screening.
We will keep this website updated so please check back.

CCIA is proud to support Supply a Smile (SAS), a free dental program which began in January 2011.

SAS's  goal is to provide dental services to individuals who are not covered by dental insurance.
Dental services provided are: fillings, cleanings, and extractions.

The process for care begins with a visit to SAS's monthly screening at the Canandaigua Primary School cafeteria. With first come first served, the doors are open at 8:00 am and screenings start at 9:00 am. Each month there are a limited number of appointments available so not everyone may be screened or receive an appointment for that month. We encourage you to return the following month.

Each patient begins with a brief health screening, including a blood pressure reading. Then they receive a dental exam to determine the route of care needed. The patient will then be responsible to call and schedule their appointment with the dentist they were referred to.

We are truly thankful to the local dentists, hygienist’s, and volunteers for their kindness, generosity and donation of their time staffing SAS's Dental Program. Thank you to Canandaigua Primary / Elementary
school for their support in the use of the facility.
