Position: Site Navigator, Canandaigua Churches in Action Medical Clinic
Location: CCIA Medical Clinic,
Work Schedule: Approximately 30 hours per week, with some evening and Saturday hours.
Job Description:
- Facilitate all administrative interaction between The Clinic and Thompson Health System.
- Facilitate client access to all applicable community resources.
- Provide general receptionist services such as answering phones in a courteous, professional manner.
- Manage the Clinic’s client schedule via phone appointments or walk-in.
- Work in conjunction with Thompson Health’s Facilitated Enrollment Group to help The Clinic’s clients enroll in government assisted health plans.
- Effectively communicate with Thompson Health Facilitated Enrollment Department
- Assist The Clinic’s clients in arranging appointments and transportation, if necessary, when directed by The Clinic’s Thompson Healthcare Professional to visit additional health care specialists.
- Assist The Clinic’s clients in completing Health History and necessary financial assistance paperwork.
- Work with the Clinic’s clients to establish payment plans and schedules.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive, confidential and secure client medical files.
- Effectively communicate with Thompson Health billing department.
- Promote and support volunteers’ efforts to educate The Clinic’s clients relative to the complete suite of CCIA services. Identify and facilitate other needs and services.
- Provide the CCIA Medical Clinic Advisory Committee with all information and reports that the Committee needs to perform its oversight functions.
- Support the medical staff in communication with the clinic’s clients.
- Maintain an organized and clean work and reception area.
Job Requirements:
The above knowledge, skills and abilities may be demonstrated by a high school diploma, or equivalent, and three years experience in a customer service role or in some capacity of advocacy. Applicants should possess an understanding of applicable community resources available to Canandaigua area residents in need. Medical office employment experience will be helpful. Experience with computerized systems and MS Office Suite is necessary.
